Shipping policy

This policy covers items bought in our online shop. Classes, private lessons and FFL transfer fees aren't shipped, and gift cards are emailed or printed at home.

Where we ship

We ship within the lower 48 states and Washington, D.C. We don't ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, military (APO/FPO) addresses or outside the United States.

Firearms ship only to a licensed dealer

The law doesn't allow us to ship a firearm to your home. Every firearm and suppressor ships to a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL). You pick it up there after completing the paperwork and background check that federal and state law require.

You choose the dealer at checkout, and it must be in the state where you live. Connecticut residents can also choose to pick up at Blue Cord Firearms in Oxford. Another dealer may charge its own transfer fee, which you pay to that dealer.

You must be old enough to buy the item and legally allowed to own it where you live. Federal law sets 21 for handguns and suppressors and 18 for rifles and shotguns. Connecticut residents must be 21 for semi-automatic centerfire rifles. Your state may set its own limits, which your dealer checks at pickup. Checkout asks for your date of birth and home state.

Suppressors go only to a dealer licensed to transfer them (an SOT). Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer enforces Form 4 approval and registration for suppressors, so in many states a suppressor no longer needs an approved Form 4. Other states still require one under their own law, and Connecticut is one of them. Your dealer handles the paperwork your state requires.

Which states we ship to

We ship firearms and suppressors to licensed dealers in any of the lower 48 states or Washington, D.C., as long as the item is legal in your state and the purchase meets your state's requirements.

Knowing whether a firearm, suppressor, ammunition or accessory is legal for you to buy and own where you live is your responsibility, and for a firearm or suppressor also your transferring dealer's, who must confirm it before completing the transfer.

Suppressors can't be owned in California, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Washington, D.C., so we don't ship them there.

We don't ship pistols with a threaded barrel, or threaded pistol barrels, to California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington and Washington, D.C., which restrict them under their assault weapon laws.

We don't ship threaded rifle barrels, or rifles with one, to Illinois, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

We don't ship flash suppressors (flash hiders), or firearms that have one, to California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia, Washington and Washington, D.C.

  • Magazines over a certain capacity are limited or banned in some states. Checking that a magazine is legal where you live is your responsibility.
  • If a product page lists states it can't ship to, checkout won't accept an order for those states.
  • Laws change. If we learn that an item can't legally go to your dealer or address, we'll cancel it and release the hold on your card.

Accessories

Accessories ship to your door. Shipping is $9.95 per order, free when the accessories come to $99.00 or more.

Shipping costs and your card

Firearm shipping to your dealer is charged at its actual cost, up to $25.00 per handgun and $50.00 per long gun or suppressor.

When you order, we place a hold on your card for the order total, including tax and the most that shipping can cost. You're charged only when your order ships, for the actual shipping, and the rest of the hold is released. Connecticut sales tax (6.35%) applies to items delivered in Connecticut, including their shipping.

If an order takes more than 30 days to ship, we may need to place the hold on your card again.

When your order ships

Orders ship directly from our distributors' warehouses, so items in one order may arrive in separate packages, each with its own tracking number. (A firearm a Connecticut resident picks up at Blue Cord Firearms ships to us.) We email you the tracking number when your order ships. If an item turns out to be out of stock or delayed, we'll email you, and you can wait or cancel it. An item that doesn't ship is never charged.

Damaged, lost or wrong items

Check your firearm at the dealer before you complete the transfer. If it's damaged or isn't what you ordered, don't complete the transfer and contact us; we'll arrange its return with the distributor.

If your dealer can't complete the transfer to you, for example because the background check is denied or your state doesn't allow the item, your dealer's own transfer policy applies, including any fees it charges. We drop ship from our distributors, so contact your dealer first.

For accessories, contact us within 48 hours of delivery if a package arrives damaged or with the wrong item, with photos of the item and the box. If a package is lost in transit, contact us once its tracking stops moving. We file the claim with the distributor and send a replacement or refund you. Returns are covered by our refund policy.

Sending a firearm to us for a transfer

Bought a firearm somewhere else? Have it shipped to us for an FFL transfer. Our FFL transfers page explains how, and dealers can upload their license there.
