Advanced Pistol Classes
Ready to take the training wheels off? Whether you are new to shooting or want to get back into it with a reset, Pistol 101 is where you want to start. While there is some classroom time included, the majority of time will be spent on the range – learning to shoot while you actually shoot! A lot will be done on the range with training, but a highlight includes being able to draw from the holster, shoot and recover to the holster. Paper and steel targets will be used. The small class size allows for more individualized training.
After completing the course, you will be able to:
-Demonstrate the safe use and handling of a pistol
-Identify how to fit a handgun to your hand
-Understand action types, calibers and ammunition
-Choose a holster
-Safely draw from and recover to a holster
-Demonstrate foundational shooting techniques
-Safely and efficiently load, reload and unload a pistol
-Safely and efficiently hit a target with dominant hand
Our Instructors
Trained by the United States Army. Certified by the National Rifle Association and the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification. Robert Carr has real world experience you should demand from anyone training you to use a firearm safely. While deployed to Baghdad, Iraq SGT Carr participated in 500+ combat patrols. Robert is a fully qualified U.S. Army Range Safety Officer and has been the Non Commissioned Officer In Charge of multiple military qualifying ranges training countless soldiers in the use of various weapons systems.
